I remember taking this picture in May of 2012, after flying up from CalArts to follow-up with Mr. Vertolli about my plans on enrolling into the Animation program, as well as show him my work from the previous five-week session in Valencia. So, here I am excited about our meeting and the encouragement that I should apply for the following spring semester, based on the level of my drafting skills, and what do I see emerging from bushes; the "Great Prince of the Forest" himself. Staring at me as if it was a sign from Walt Disney himself, I couldn't figure out if I was hallucinating. The reason for that feeling of displacement laid largely on the fact that I was standing in the northern part of the City of Oakland, face to face with a deer. What's the odds of that happening again?
"You've Got A Friend In Me" Pledge
I am very pleased to announce that I’ve been selected into the California College of the Arts BFA Animation Program in Oakland. This is indeed a moment in my life where things are on an upward trajectory and affirms that my sleepless nights, distant travels, and my faith in the abilities of God and myself, have taken me from dreamer to doer. In my pursuit of becoming a story arist I am asking for the aid of your kind donation to help in paying for my first month of tuition, I call this the "You've Got A Friend In Me" Pledge. This means I must raise $50 a day in order to reach my goal by the due date of May 1, 2014. In exchange for your funding I'm offering you a chance to follow me on my journey towards working at Pixar via my blog, as well as receive a “I Helped Mister Kennedy get his BFA in Animation from CCA” pin, which is featured above. This first effort will allow me to enter into the program without the financial worries of starting this new experience unfocused. As the months approach towards my departure in December I hope to extended my experience with you, by posting works of art that will be for sale and used towards further my academic studies. So please feel free to contact me directly or donate via the "You've Got A Friend In Me" Pledge tab at the top of this page, with your support. Many Thanks-
Mister Kennedy

UP...
Me in front of the original animation building in Burbank in 2012. I though today would be a great day to post this photo of excitement, still celebrating getting into CCA!
Welcome California!
After postponing my decision to head west last year, I reapplied last month and received my acceptance letter into the BFA Animation program, from the California College of the Arts in Oakland today!
This is indeed a moment in my life where things are on a upward trajectory and affirming that my sleepless nights, distant travels, and my faith in the abilities of God has taking me from dreamer to doer; in my pursuit of being a story artist and my ability to write my own future.

This is where it begins...
As a artist your workstation is essentially your assistance and the key to being organized. A great station consists of many things, not just tools which you can see in the photo above but the work you bring. Waiting on the mail from California.
CalArts 2nd. Summer Session 2012: Animation 101 Class Picture
rePost: CalArts Daily's on Tumblr
I started to transfer the posts for my 2012 summer in Valencia at CalArts, but that would have taken up a lot of creative time that could be spent on... creating. So, I decided to keep it live and start this blog as a journal of where I'm heading now; hopefully that will be CCA.
The countdown has begun...
So I've applied to CCA. It's the only school I've applied to. I hope I get in on my first try.
